Carol Pesce Imlay
Ana Carolina Pesce-Imlay is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator. She was born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, and spent most of her young life on a farm in Botucatu where she quickly discovered her passion for art. Influenced by her grandfather who was a designer and illustrator, drawing became a very important part of her life.
During college she worked as an intern at Publisher Editora MOL in 2006 where she gained valuable experience designing layouts for various magazines. In 2008 she was hired to do illustration and storyboard work for the animation company Internet Group do Brasil (‘Guia dos curiosos’). In 2009 she graduated with a Bachelor in Graphic Design from the University SENAC, São Paulo, and was hired on with EVA Comunicação Team as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator where she had the job of creating logos, concepts, layouts and illustrations for the web. While there she learned to mix analog techniques with computer programs, as well as experiment with photos in water techniques of paintings. In 2010 she moved to the United States to illustrate for the San Francisco based publisher Zestbooks and she currently works as a Freelance Designer and Fine Artist creating various book covers, website layouts and most recently painting custom shoes.
